    - This kit includes all of the items that should normally be replaced in a typical full transaxle rebuild. In some cases, other hard parts that would not normally need to be replaced may be damaged and will need to be replaced.

    How Steeper Gearing Will Affect Your Car

    Generally speaking, steeper gear ratios will improve your acceleration and E.T., while reducing your fuel economy and trap speeds. In round numbers, each gear step (from 2.93:1 to 3.29:1 for example) will reduce your quarter mile E.T. by about a tenth of a second and your trap speed by about 1.0 MPH. Your engine speed (RPM) will increase by about 13% at any given vehicle speed and your gas mileage will be reduced by about 5%. Changing from 2.93:1 to 3.69:1 gears will approximately double all the effects listed in this paragraph.

    I purchased this kit 7 years ago with the single chain setup. I've since rebuilt engine 3 times due to blows pistons(Fierce AFR tunes) and skip shifts from 4th to 2nd gear at 85mph and 5800-6300 RPM shiftpoints. I've launched from stand-still and from a roll like a bat-out-of-hell many times over for 7+ YEARS!!!! Finally had to open-up Trans for skipping issues and discovered all Intense parts were still merely 65% worn with NO damage. Damage was restricted to metal drums and housings that were repaired courtesy of donor transmission. The intense parts took brunt of 400+ ft/lb of torque and never failed. The Intense parts outlasted the OTHER stock GM trans Internals! My ASE Certified Master Tech friend was amazed at the destruction and even more amazed how the Intense parts kept working past the chaos and damage. He said "In my 40 years of hot-rodding, I've never seen a transmission so obliterated and yet still able to drive around like it did despite the damage, that chain also really helped keep things together". Now that was the best purchase I ever made! Superb parts, Intense performance! Thank you Intense! ~Louvered97GTP
