The stock input shafts on the 4T65E-HD transaxles have been proven to be a weak link and INTENSE™ was the first to do something about it.

As of June 2013, this is the only Aramet GM Racing Input Shaft that we know of for sale. (This new shaft was located at our shop while moving old parts bins.) We have no intention of producing other Aramet shafts, nor do we know of anyone else, so this is an incredible find for someone building a very high horsepower 4T65E.

The INTENSE™ Input/Turbine Shaft is manufactured by the same company that made our 300M input shafts, as well as all of the shafts for the GM Racing team. It has been modified from the original design to make it far stronger than the weak stock input shaft. The ‘slop’ between the input shaft and the drive gear has been significantly reduced while the two oiling holes on the gear side have been replaced with four smaller oiling holes for better fluid flow. The entire shaft has been thickened significantly, which when coupled with the Aramet 100 alloy makes this the strongest 4T65E-HD input shaft available.

NOTES:

  • -This shaft comes complete with a pressed in oil diverter tube and with two new sealing rings installed using the correct J-Tools.

  • -The shaft is built without a groove milled into the torque converter end, as it is designed for a non-lockup converter. It can be modified to work with a lockup converter by milling such a groove. Please contact us if you need a referral to a machine shop capable of grinding the very hard alloy used in the shaft. Cost is typically $50-200 for such a modification.

  • -We recommend your INTENSE™ Input/Turbine Shaft be installed by a competent professional during a complete racing transaxle build. This shaft is designed for use with a one-inch drive chain system and GM limited-slip differential. It is generally overkill to use with a typical street transmission.

  • -As this is the last known input shaft of its type, we cannot replace it if you damage it. We will offer a refund for the purchase within 90 days should it be found to have material defects, but cannot warrant against breakage. This is a race-oriented part, and as such is very strong, but it is not guaranteed to be unbreakable. Labor and other costs are not covered under this warranty. Installer assumes all liability with regard to any and all damages in any way related to the purchase, installation, and/or use of this input shaft. Modification of the shaft for usage in your transmission, including grinding a lockup o-ring seal land, will result in voiding of the above warranty.
